Haruka Webster, Japanese translator (Fukui, Japan)
Haruka is an English-Japanese translator. Her career started as an internal translator for a Japanese steel manufacturing company, where she learned the unique Japanese business culture/etiquette and how to conduct international businesses efficiently by helping people connect with languages. Her experience as an internal translator has made her keen on the special nuances of both languages and has made translating her great passion. In 2018, Haruka decided to move to the United States with her husband and started working as a freelance translator. Since then, she’s been working with various companies from Asia, Europe, and North America while helping them succeed with their brands/businesses in the Japanese market with quality localizations. She has successfully translated over 300 complete projects, ranging from documents to entire websites. She’s always seeking to further improve her translation skills by attending study programs and enriching her knowledge in work-related fields. In her spare time, Haruka enjoys nature, reading and knitting. She also volunteers to teach the Japanese language to non-Japanese students and share her love of the language.
